Rhetoric in Real Life
Rhetoric is everywhere in life. Billboards, posters, commercials, ads, magazines, everywhere you look, there is some form of rhetoric. Insurance companies trying to get you to switch from your current insurance companies to theirs by using funny TV commercials, or funny comics; companies trying to get you to taste their products by using statistics on how their products are better; rhetoric is everywhere. I'm exposed to rhetoric every single day. I love watching TV and videos on the Internet, so I am exposed to numerous amounts of rhetoric ads all the time. Rhetoric plays a huge role in my day-to-day life, and the more I am exposed to it, the more often I express it.
I apply rhetoric almost daily. I am always trying to persuade my friends to try to go eat at certain places or do certain things. I always try to be fun about it because I love fun rhetoric ads. Some of my favorite rhetoric ads are the funny car insurance commercials, such as the Allstate commercials. In the Allstate commercials, a man represents chaos that could happen to your car. They always make me laugh, and at the same time, it is very persuading for me on buying car insurance whenever I have to. Other commercials that I enjoy are beer commercials. I am not a drinker, and I never plan on drinking anything in my life, but I love the funny, senseless commercials. Anything that can make me laugh, I enjoy.
No matter how hard you try, you can never escape rhetoric. People are always going to try to get others to use or invest in their products or interests; whether by using funny ads, sad ads, ads that are straight to the point, or ads that will make you think really hard. I really enjoy how life is full of rhetoric, and I love seeing the different styles of it daily.
Daily life Rhetoric
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you
ReplyDeleteRhetoric has to do with persuasion. example you want someone to buy your product, what you do is you make them buy one and you give one for free.
ReplyDeleteThe facts remains.
DeleteHell, life all full of rhetoric and if you become rhetorically well then you can get almost everything via persuasion,, love that❤
DeleteRhetoric has to do with persuasion e.g you work in a certain store and you also take a cab after work to home but one day u do not have any money in your pocket and decided to ask customer to contributes taxi money for you.
ReplyDeleteOur family friend works at the restaurant and she always says:" Food is everything or what can anyone do without food? "basically drawing attention to amazing how food is why we need a healthy balanced diet.
ReplyDeleteRhetoric is a way of convincing /persuading people.people use posters ,meetings and advertising on TVs.My sister is a member of Amway (organisation /a business from USA.use to sell products like soaps ,body lotions and some vitamins)she makes meeting to persuade people to join their business ,she says in thier business they sell healthy product like refreshments ,they can give good ideas on how can you make your business well successful .In that way she want people to leave their organisations like Omagano and come join their organisation.

DeleteRhetorical patterns are ways of organizing information. Rhetoric refers to the way people use language to process information, and this handout will define a few rhetorical patters as well as each pattern’s general structure and purpose.
ReplyDeleteRhetorical patterns refers to the manner people use language to send information so that it can catch the recipient's attention. The senders of the message send information by using illustrations or examples, narration, descriptions which involves focusing on the use of concrete, sensory words to describe location, people, every object or memory that explains or illuminates your main point. It also used to explain cause and effects of a certain action by representing and evaluating them. My mom use rhetoric language everyday by asking us questions of what might happen if we don't study or do our homework which we know the obvious answers is that we will fail and not become successful, but the point with her is the way she asks the questions she convinces us of the consequences that motivates us to work. Another example is my aunt she alWays convince my dad to buy her perfumes by making him feel as if he will be superman if he buys and wears the colognes. Yes I do agree that companies and individuals do use rhetoric language everyday e.g when they are advertising and promoting their products a practical example is Nivea, that uses videos to show the after effects of using their products. The way they package their products is a way they draw people's attention by writing their logos and catchy phrases on thEm.
DeleteIt's a fact

Yes, I agree with that because, companies and private individuals use rhetoric in advertisements and promotions to convince consumers to purchase specific items or service. They set up large poster board displays and other visuals about their particular activity that they do.

ReplyDeleteRhetorical in spoken words in my understanding it means that a person tells another person something, without expecting an answer from that person .My Aunt is a business lady who orders clothes from China and she uses rhetorical patterns when she interacts with her customers, she persuades her customers to buy her clothes because they are cheap and they have a good quality.Customers always believe what she says because she is a good women who is trustworthy. The customers take pictures of clothes they want and send them to my aunt,my aunt will find out information about the type of clothes and get back to the customer, telling the customer the price and date they will receive the shirts/pants and then the customer will give my aunt the money. It is a fact that companies always use rhetorical expression with their customers at a daily basis, because that is how they always manage to get profits because they have many customers, which means that the cash flow in the business will be high.
ReplyDeleteRhetoric refers to the language that is used to inform, persuade or motivate audiences. Rhetoric uses language to appeal mainly to emotions but also in some cases to values or logic. An example of rhetoric language strategy can often be found in literature, politics and advertising for specific emphasis and effect-incorporating a variety of figurative language techniques depending upon the desired result.

From my own point of view rhetoric in spoken language actually just has to do with ways on how to persuade or convince people about a thing by voice. My very own mother is a Long Life member who sells health related products to anybody who comes around but in order to sell her products faster she makes voice notes in which she gives a short description of each product, the price and then lastly her contact details, in addition to that she go places telling people on how good the pills are. I agree about companies using rhetoric in spoken language because at times it is this way that the companies have to go through in order to advertise and carry out promotions of their products or services, this is the only way that can make the customer fall for the products or service offered
ReplyDeleteRhetoric refers to ways of organizing information, thus using language to persuade/convince people to do, buy or participate in something.
ReplyDeleteIt uses exemplificatiom to support a main idea.
It uses narraion that are relevant to a main idea to demonstrate/illustrate the points you want to highlight.
It makes use of description by focusing on the use of concrete and sensory diction to descibe something such as an event.
Rhetoric refers to the way how information are organized and the way how people use language to process information.
ReplyDeleteMy sister persuade rhetoric daily by telling learners to study smart and choose their carriers for their bright future
There is no way you can escape this ,either you use illustration to focus on using specific examples. It uses narration by make use of stories about you, people you may know or people you have heard, related to the point you want to make
In my own words I can say rhetoric is a way of persuasion or convincing people of certain things. For example,I for instance I sell products to my community I give a short description of the products, the prices, how good the products are and then comes persuasion for the people to buy the products.
ReplyDeleteAccording to my understanding about the word rhetoric this is a way people use languages to process and organize information to win people's attention. To explain it in a simplest form rhetoric refers to a process of winning people's attention with words, posts or anything else to focus on something for a purpose. Added on this is a language that is used to inform, persuade, motivate and even advertise to the audiences in order to give something to them ( audience). Rhetoric can be made in many ways such as people can speak or write to win people's attention. They can also post some images or pictures to tell the audience the main aim of the event. To add more on this rhetoric does not only win people's attention but it attracts them too. It attract them in a way that they get a chance to go to an event so to say in order to go and do what they are required to do. To further my discussion rhetoric can not just be carried out like that, people have to agree who to count on in carrying out the process. This can be an Ethos to persuade the audience by focusing on the qualifications on the character of the speaker, for this they can do to test the credibility in process. When you are carrying out the rhetoric we should make sure it's carried out successful, this include the way we should approach the audience emotional and this is pathos to value emotions.
ReplyDeleteRhetoric refers to language that is used to inform, pursuade or motivate audience inorder to cath the recipient attention.Rhetoric is everywhere in life. In magazines and literatures you find people pursuade people to buy their compunies. I am exposed to many rhetoric everyday mostly in whatching in TV and videos on YouTube. The more i watch those videos the more often i express it. My cousin use rhetoric she pursuade my siblings andi to become nurses like her because she said nursing get a lot of money. I agree because companies they use rhetoric in their product advertisement and promotions to convice consumers to purchase specific items or service example. An advartisement for canned soap may show a child smiling and eagerly eating their soup after pushing away another brand.
ReplyDeleteRhetoric refers to a language that is used to inform , persuade or motivate audience. Rhetoric uses language to appeal emotions also in some cases to share values or logic. Close relatives succeed applying rhetoric when they motivate one another. For instance a father can encourage his child to study very hard in order to pass. I do also agree that companies and individuals use rhetoric language in advertisement when they put their products on promotion. They set up posters to attract customers.
