Rhetoric in Real Life

Rhetoric is everywhere in life.  Billboards, posters, commercials, ads, magazines, everywhere you look, there is some form of rhetoric. Insurance companies trying to get you to switch from your current insurance companies to theirs by using funny TV commercials, or funny comics; companies trying to get you to taste their products by using statistics on how their products are better; rhetoric is everywhere.  I'm exposed to rhetoric every single day.  I love watching TV and videos on the Internet, so I am exposed to numerous amounts of rhetoric ads all the time. Rhetoric plays a huge role in my day-to-day life, and the more I am exposed to it, the more often I express it.

I apply rhetoric almost daily.  I am always trying to persuade my friends to try to go eat at certain places or do certain things.  I always try to be fun about it because I love fun rhetoric ads.  Some of my favorite rhetoric ads are the funny car insurance commercials, such as the Allstate commercials.  In the Allstate commercials, a man represents chaos that could happen to your car.  They always make me laugh, and at the same time, it is very persuading for me on buying car insurance whenever I have to.  Other commercials that I enjoy are beer commercials.  I am not a drinker, and I never plan on drinking anything in my life, but I love the funny, senseless commercials.  Anything that can make me laugh, I enjoy.

No matter how hard you try, you can never escape rhetoric.  People are always going to try to get others to use or invest in their products or interests; whether by using funny ads, sad ads, ads that are straight to the point, or ads that will make you think really hard.  I really enjoy how life is full of rhetoric, and I love seeing the different styles of it daily.
